NORTHRIDGE, CA- Futbol, the world's number one sport, is watched by millions of people around the world. The CSUN campus is getting in on the fun by hosting watch parties every Tuesday at the Veterans Resource Center. It's importance is not lost on the international community, including CSUN students from other countries who tap into their own idenities through the sport.
Many international students struggle to adapt to American culture and its customs. Add those challenges to the stress of being a student and it can often feel overwhelming. Through the Veterans Resource Center, a chance to create lasting friendships became available. There, students root for their favorite teams while watching the action.

The World Cup only takes place every four years, making a landmark event around campus. The United States isn't necessarily known for its success, with a greater emphasis being placed on the American version of the sport. Considering the buzz that this generates, it clearly shows why so many people love it.
News Package:
Multiple CSUN websites list the dates and times of each week's events. The variety of listings allow for for students to work it around their class schedules. Many also live on campus making get togethers like this easier to attend.
